Objectives by Age Level
U - Learning foundation techniques of passing, setting, and serving. We emphasize correct contact points on the ball and body mechanics. Players will learn to control the ball as they serve, pass, and set, and learn to improve the ball for their teammates. Learning to control the ball is the primary goal.
U - Players will begin to understand how to play based on their rotational position. Front row vs. back row. Setter vs, hitter etc. Passing will be directed toward the target area and three-contact play will be encouraged.
U - Players have a good grasp of foundational skills and will be applying those skills and consistently implementing three-contact play. They will begin to learn individual position skills as well as a team approach to coverage, serve receive, and defense.
U - Players will begin to gravitate toward a position(s). They will learn rotations based on positional play and will understand their positional role and the role of teammates. Transitioning smoothly from offense to defense within rallies will be emphasized.
